Shipping and Delivery Policy

Introduction

At Milestone Kitchens, we are committed to ensuring a smooth and efficient shipping and delivery process for our customers. This Shipping and Delivery Policy outlines the terms and conditions governing the shipment and collection of units available on our Website and made to order.

Please read this policy carefully to understand how delivery is arranged, costs are calculated, and the responsibilities of both Milestone Kitchens and the customer.

1. The Crux of the Matter

Milestone Kitchens is not a delivery company and do not have our own delivery facilities, while we will happily work with you and the external delivery company of your choice to the best of our ability to ensure that your units are delivered successfully, ultimately the delivery contract is between you and your chosen delivery company and any damages occurring during delivery, or delivery service issues are the responsibility of the delivery company and need to be corrected by them.

Our promise: If there are any issues, at Milestone Kitchens we always endeavour to work with you and the delivery company responsible until you are happy with the final product.

2. Delivery Process

2.1 Delivery Cost and Arrangements

  • Delivery is not included in the purchase price. We can request a delivery quote on your behalf from external delivery companies, or you can arrange your own delivery. On the Checkout page, you will have the option to choose local pickup (i.e. you will arrange your own delivery/collection) or request a delivery quote. If you choose local pickup, please be aware of where this product is located.
  • If an order consists of units from different locations (e.g., KZN Factory and CT Warehouse), separate delivery charges will apply for each dispatch.
  • A delivery quote will be provided before the finalisation of your order. You have the right to pull out of the sale if you are not happy with the delivery cost.
  • The customer is responsible for the costs and risks associated with transportation.

2.2 Delivery Timeframe

  • We will keep you informed on the production of your units and the estimated completion time of your units. We will keep your chosen delivery company you informed on the production of your units and the estimated completion time of your units. We will inform you and your chosen delivery company when the units can be collected. Milestone Kitchens cannot control the delivery time, delivery period and collection time for your chosen delivery company.

2.4 Delivery Confirmation

  • Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a confirmation email from us.
  • The third-party delivery company may contact you to confirm delivery arrangements.

3. Receiving Your Delivery

3.1 Inspection of Goods

  • Upon receiving your order, inspect the products immediately for any damage.
  • If any damage is identified, report it immediately to the transport company.
  • For non-delivery related discrepancies please refer to our  Returns and Refunds Policy.

3.2 Delivery Challenges

  • Large and heavy units come with delivery challenges, and minor wear and tear during transport is possible.
    • If you have a large island, we suggest asking us to deliver the top separately and fitting once inside your home.
    • If you have long stone tops, consider having the stone tops delivered and fitted on site.
  • We are not responsible for damages caused by the transport company.
  • Transport companies are typically insured, and we recommend ensuring your delivery.

4. Collection Process

4.1 Collection Locations

Customers buying units in stock must ensure they collect from the location where their ordered unit is for sale. Stock is for sale in the following locations:

  • Milestone Factory: Milestone Farm, R614, Wartburg, KZN, 3233.
  • JHB Showroom: 52 6th Street, Parkhurst, Randburg, Johannesburg
  • CT Sales Warehouse: Unit 1, Ravenscraig Mews, 6 Ravenscraig Road, Woodstock, Cape Town

Made to order units must be collected from the factory: Milestone Farm, R614, Wartburg, 3233

4.2 Collection Arrangements

  • Customers must notify the respective location before collection to allow for order preparation.
  • The store may contact the customer to arrange collection details.

4.3 Collection Responsibilities

  • Customers must ensure they have an appropriate vehicle for transporting their order.
  • We recommend bringing blankets, towels or cardboard to protect your units from scratching or rubbing.
  • Milestone Kitchens is not responsible for any damage occurring during transportation once the product has been collected.

5. Packaging and Handling

  • In order to lessen our environmental impact, we do not like to wrap our units in heavy plastic instead we wrap them in a light cling wrap to protect them from dirt. We also include carboard on all corners. Most transport companies use cardboard and blankets during delivery, and this is usually adequate protection for the units. If the company you are using does not use blankets, it is a good idea to request them.
  • If additional packaging is required, this must be specifically requested.
  • During transportation, the units’ hinges and runners may vibrate out of alignment. However, they are fully adjustable, and it is the responsibility of the client to make the necessary adjustments.

6. Delivery Restrictions

6.1 Oversized or Difficult Deliveries

  • Milestone Kitchens cannot be held responsible if your units cannot fit through your doors or into your space unless the units is different from the sizes specified on your carpenter order (and signed off by you before production of your units began).
