What are my sink options and how do I fit them?

What options do I have for my sink?

  1. A drop in stainless steel or composite sink. Fits on to a wood, (stone, Caesarstone, quartz, marble and granite) or bamboo top.

Specifically, we recommend the Franke Neptune Sink because it has deep bowls and a recessed lip which stops water from spilling onto the counter top but there are more affordable options available. You can look online and send us your sink choice.

We also recommend the Tip Toe D200 from SA Sinks. A less expensive alternative to both the Franke Neptune and Tip Toe D200 is the Franke Cascade sink.

  1. A butler sink. Also known as a lab sink. This is available in both a single and double option. You may fit this into a unit with any top.

  1. A fully moulded stainless steel sink. This may be custom designed and ordered for you from our stainless steel suppliers. It is moulded as one piece with no joins. It is not fitted into any top as it is it’s own top but it is reinforced underneath with Pine batons.

  1. An undermount sink. It only fits into stone tops and is attached under the counter, this means there is no lip around the edge of the sink.

We can fit your sink for you if we have it in the factory. Bear in mind that fitting a drop-in sink (cutting the hole for the sink) has an additional cost. You can order your sink and have it delivered to us or we can purchase it for you. We work closely with OnTap and SA Sinks. It is entirely up to you what type of sink you want in your sink unit.

How do I fit my sink?

You have options. You can do it yourself, you can organize a plumber to come do it for you. OR, we can do it for you. If we do it for you here is how you go about it.

  • If you have already bought a sink, you can have it delivered to us to Milestone Factory.
  • Or, if you still have to order a sink, you can order it online and have it delivered to us at the factory.
  • Or, you can choose whatever sink you like and ask us to order it for you.

Single Butler Sinks and Double Butler Sinks Units are ordered by us and fitted at the factory.

If you choose to ask Milestone Kitchens to fit your drop-in sink, please note that we are not securing or siliconing it into place. This has to be done on site by yourself or your plumber. We only cut the hole and place the sink inside the top. The sink will be sent with the unit loose. We do not provide taps, unless you have specifically requested we order them. These are organised by you and fitted by yourself or your plumber.

Please note that the sink needs to be at our Factory in Wartburg to ensure a proper fit into the unit.

Do not stick tops to the wall

If you are putting on stone tops, do not stick the tops to the wall.
Allow them to be free-standing so that the unit can be moved in the event of a leak.
